Nick “Guppy” Goepper is truly an extraordinary talent and individual. Growing up in a riverside farm in Indiana, his parents did whatever they could to give him and his siblings the opportunities they wanted. Hardships occurred forcing Goepper into a crossroads – quit or grit. From selling candy bars at school to pay for a ski pass to telling his story and asking for donations or odd jobs – Goepper did whatever it would take to pursue his dream.
Here is a video of the very excited and humble, Nick Goepper after he made the podium this week in Killington, Vermont for Free Ski Slopestyle:
“I think I’ve come further than a lot of other kids as far as the journey from being a park rat to a pro skier,” Goepper said. “And I definitely sometimes sit back and realize that I worked hard to get here, and I deserve this. It’s fulfilling to know that I’m doing what I’m doing now, versus what I could be doing in Cornfield Land, Ind.” (excerpt from ESPN article)
